Several European companies have trained artificial intelligence to detect signs of breast cancer,in the hope that a breakthrough will help hospitals contending with a shortage of radiologists.
Kheiron Medical is the latest company to announce that it will use AI algorithms to try to diagnose breast cancer, launching a trial on historic scans this month at a National Health Service trust in Leeds in the north of England. Its technology will also be tested against tens of thousands of historic scans in the East Midlands to see whether it can identify signs of breast cancer.
