The AI in Health and Care Award and Kheiron Medical
Working together for better patient outcomes
The UK’s National Health Service is one of the most revered and respected healthcare systems in the world.
And now, central to its efforts to roll out digital transformation across healthcare, it has the AI in Health and Care Award. The Accelerated Access Collaborative, the National Institute for Health Research and NHS England and Improvement are propelling the use of promising AI technologies, and giving digital innovators the opportunity to run large trials across dozens of NHS trusts to prove the effectiveness of their solutions.
We’re working closely with the NHS AI lab and the Accelerated Access Collaborative (AAC) to accelerate the development and use of Mia® – and we’ll be screening more than half a million women over the next three years across up to 15 NHS sites. It’s an exciting and collaborative partnership that will transform patient care and outcomes, and make the UK a global leader in this space.

Our NHS partners
To help us undertake effective, large-scale research, we’ve partnered with a selection of NHS sites. Moving forward, we’ll work alongside these sites to prove that Mia can be safely deployed and accepted by clinicians as part of the breast screening workflow.

Engaging patients and the public
Patient and public involvement forms an integral part of our AI Award work. Building on our previous research into the attitudes and beliefs of women towards AI, we will work alongside patients and the public at each of the NHS sites participating in the AI in Health and Care Award to understand how best to inform, educate and reassure women.
